"Denson has gained the public support of the Brewers’ manager, Craig Counsell, and their star outfielder Ryan Braun, as well as many current teammates. De Horta, who considers Denson like a brother, believes his recent resurgence may be related to his decision to come out. “To anybody who feels the same way and is scared to come out, and once they do, to have his teammates and others have his back, that’s big time,” De Horta said. He continued: “Imagine having that feeling of being trapped and scared to be who you are? To play this game, you have got to have fun; you have to be free. To feel trapped and have to play mental games, I can’t imagine how closed off that feels. I’m very proud of his team and I’m very proud of him. No doubt, there’s a big weight lifted off his shoulder.”"
